828,000 workers are suffering from work-related stress, depression or anxiety which costs employers a loss of 17.9 million working days annually. This highlights the severity of the issue and how the lack of attendance has the potential to hinder the achievement of business targets. The national health service defines stress as the body's reaction to feeling threatened or under pressure.
